Kensington Gardens (Flower Walk) c.1910

A former royal hunting ground, Kensington Gardens became a fashionable
location
for the promenades of wealthy citizens in the 18th century.
However, it was only open to the public by Queen Victoria in 1841.

Flower Walk is one of the most picturesque and tranquil paths
of Kensington Gardens today. To see how Flower Walk looks now, click

Among older trees at Kensington Gardens are a sweet chestnut supposedly
planted in 1700

maples, single-leaved ashes, red oaks and swamp white oaks.
